Le fonctionnement optimal psychologique : apports conceptuels et méthodologiques = Optimal psychological functioning: Conceptual and methodological contributions

Dans cette étude, nous opérationnalisons un nouveau construit : le fonctionnement optimal psychologique (FOP). Les dimensions du construit sont situées au niveau historique et conceptuel puis une approche heuristique est mobilisée en s’appuyant sur trois règles précises et la conception tripartite de l’esprit, c.-à-d. cognitive, affective et conative. L’échantillon est constitué de 1066 actifs français de 18 à 60 ans d’origine socioculturelle et géographique variée. La méthodologie s’appuie sur ... une modélisation en variables latentes. Les résultats donnent lieu à un modèle bifactoriel en équations structurelles exploratoires (Bi-ESEM) à six facteurs spécifiques, avec un très bon ajustement et des propriétés psychométriques élevées. La validité du construit est testée par rapport à la santé mentale positive par le Mental Health Continuum Short Form (MHC-SF) (Keyes, 2002, 2005) et un construit de risques psychosociaux (RPS). Le FOP prédit fortement, très significativement et positivement la santé mentale positive et négativement l’absentéisme, le présentéisme et l’intention de turnover.
In this study, we are operationalizing a new construct: the optimal psychological functioning (OPF). The dimensions of the construct are considered from a historical and a conceptual background then a heuristic approach is mobilized based on three precise rules and the tripartite conception of the mind, i.e. cognitive, affective and conative. The sample is made of 1066 French workers of age 18 to 60 originating from a diverse sociocultural and geographic background. The methodology relies on latent variable modeling. The results give rise to a bifactor structural equations modeling (Bi-ESEM) model with six domain-specific factors demonstrating a very good fit and high psychometric properties. Construct validity was tested against Keyes's positive mental health via the Mental Health Continuum Short Form (MHC-SF) (Keyes, 2002, 2005) and a construct on psychosocial risks (PSR). The OPF strongly, very significantly, and positively predicts positive mental health, while it negatively predicts absenteeism, presenteeism and turnover intentions.
